Even if agile development has “crossed the chasm” and is becoming a mainstream set of practices, the concentration of literature is about application development. Products that include hardware, firmware and application development teams have special needs that need to be addressed. Particularly embedded software testing in agile environments is still underexposed.

On 9 November 2010 Janet Gregory explained the issues an agile team faces with testing: from tools and metrics to roles and process. Through her insight and experience, Janet showed how to take a holistic approach to collaboration between teams and adjust the processes to make it happen.

About Janet Gregory

Janet Gregory is a Calgary-based consultant, specializing building quality systems. Her passion is promoting agile quality processes in software development. Janet has helped introduce agile practices into companies as tester or coach, and has successfully transitioned traditional test teams into the agile world. Also Janet regularly presents on agile testing, and the changes needed by an organization to make a lasting change at conferences, workshops and user groups sessions. She is active in the Agile Testing community, and is part of the organizing committee for the Calgary Agile Methods User group, and works closely with the Software Quality discussion group in Calgary. She is co-author of Agile Testing: A Practical Guide for Testers and Agile Teams.
