It is May 1, 1996. Hans Duisters and Erik van Rijswijk start Sioux. With big ambitions and a small scale begins an extraordinary story in the High Tech industry near Eindhoven. Following experience gained from BSO ICT guru Eckart Wintzen they also want a company witha special culture, but adapted to the current zeitgeist. Sioux wants to rebel against Western philosophy where there is a large focus onshareholder value. Hence the name of an Indian tribe. Where people are central. Which is controlled by norms and values. Where being smart and the surprising the other is an important strategy. Indians know better than anyone that there must be a balance betweengiving and taking in any form whatsoever. A long-term focus provides stability and better results. If employees can develop optimally, they deliver performance that make the customers happy and eventually make Sioux better. Developing people and things is going backto the core. Then you find new insights and innovation.
